Paper thin wings
With a hint of uncertainty
Fluttering in my stomach
Getting jammed in my heart
Taking all of my breath away
With your dreams and desires
With your passion and innocence
Love, hatred and indifference
Of your many-layered beauty
Gossamer wings glistening brightly
Reflected aged light
From the Sun
That though far
Felt near on that day
A feeling I carry with me
Wrapped up tight in my pocket
Of this ragged old coat that I wear
To bring back to me the feeling
Of belonging
Acceptance
Fun
And laughter
And even the sunlight
With her mocking brightness
Follows me
When I am trudging down an unfriendly foreign street
Miserable
But fulfilling my dreams.
